- a letter from Comtesse de Noailles (Anna Maria Helena née Baring), dated 31 Mar 1884, reporting her offer of £20,000 to the Gordon Highlanders and the Irish Fusiliers regiments for their assistance in the reclamation of C G Gordon’s body from Sudan
- a letter from Harold Browne, Bishop of Wincester, dated 21 Feb 1885, thanking Augusta for sending him a facsimile of a letter from C G Gordon
- a letter from Arnold White, dated 9 May 1885, requesting Augusta send a note of support to the first meeting of the General Gordon League, an organisation to continue her brother's work supporting the poor

- a letter from Hallam Tennyson, son of Lord Tennyson, dated 30 Apr 1885, detailing the epitaph written by his father for C G Gordon’s cenotaph in Westminster Abbey and requesting Augusta's support in their plan to establish military camps in Gordon’s name to train impoverished boys for the army
- a letter from W.T. Stead, editor of Pall Mall Gazette, dated 11 February 1885 offering his condolences on the death of C G Gordon
- a letter from Ralph Disraeli, dated 17 Aug 1885, sent on behalf of the House of Lords, originally enclosing a resolution from the House expressing their thanks and sympathy to the officers and men engaged in Sudan, with original envelope
