Covers the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Persian Gulf, including the islands therein, together with the coasts of eastern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and southern Asia as far as eastern India. The chart is published in 2 sheets, north and south (bearing the shelfmarks IOR/X/3649/1 and IOR/X/3649/2 respectively), which join along the 13°S latitude line.
Portrays hydrology, including depths by soundings and some contours, rocks and some sands, relief by hachures, settlements and place names, and includes navigational notes and the position of lights.
Includes insets of Bombay [Mumbai] Harbour, Aden and Cape Town at scale approximately 1:150,000; Port Louis at scale approximately 1:37,500; and the Cape of Good Hope at scale approximately 1:315,000.
