- Scope & Content:
-
Manuscript hydrographic chart covering parts of the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea along a 230-mile length of the Makran coast from Jashak Bay, Persia [Khalij-e Jask, Iran] eastwards to Karachi, British India [now in Pakistan]. Includes insets, at various larger scales, of: Jashak Bay; Chahbar Bay, Persia [Khalij-e Chah Bahar, Iran]; Gwatar Bay, Persia and British India [Iran and Pakistan]; and Gwadar Bay, British India [now in Pakistan]. Also includes seventeen cross sections at unstated scales through relief features on both the Makran and Arabian coasts.
Compiled from the surveys of the following officers of the late Indian Navy: Captains George Barnes Brucks, Stafford Bettesworth Haines, Thomas Gere Carless, Albany Moore Grieve, Charles Golding Constable and Arthur Whatley Chitty.
