The volume records the accounts of the Instituto de Caridad Evangélica Hermandad de Dolores [Institute of Evangelical Charity "Fraternity of Sorrows"] from May 1, 1944 to September 30, 1950. The information is presented organised in entries and exits, or in debit and credit, depending on the sector of the volume. The entries indicate income from leases, censuses, dividends, legacies, interests, donations, credits (amortizations), alms, tax subsidy, foundations, etc. The outings present outcomes or expenses for the president's monthly payment, purchase of medicines, purchase of objects of worship, repairs, contributions, real estate insurance, dispensaries, credit titles, loads of legacies, wardrobe (mattress, blankets and clothing), midwives, medical specialists and pharmacists, diets, etc. The balance of both is approved by means of the orders of the Court of diocesan accounts. Finally, the statistics of the patients cared for by the institution in this period, both at home and in dispensaries, are presented; the amount of care performed in different specialties (gynecology, surgery, X-rays, ultraviolet light, dental service, exams); and the custody statements related to Banco Hipotecario [Mortgage Bank] and Banco de Chile [Chile Bank].
El volumen registra las cuentas del Instituto de Caridad Evangélica desde el 1 de mayo de 1944 hasta el 30 de septiembre de 1950. La información se presenta organizada en entradas y salidas, o en debe y haber, dependiendo del sector del volumen. Las entradas señalan ingresos por arriendos, censos, dividendos, legados, intereses, donaciones, títulos de crédito (amortizaciones), limosnas, subvención fiscal, fundaciones, etc. Las salidas presentan gastos o egresos por mensualidad de la presidenta, compra de medicinas, compra de objetos de culto, reparaciones, contribuciones, seguros de bienes inmuebles, dispensarios, títulos de crédito, cargas de legados, ropero (pallasas, frazadas y prendas de vestir), matronas, médicos especialistas y farmacéuticos, dietas, etc. El balance de ambos se encuentra aprobado mediante los autos de fenecimiento del Tribunal de cuentas diocesanas. Por último, se presentan las estadísticas de los enfermos atendidos por la institución en este período, tanto a domicilio como en los dispensarios; la cantidad de atenciones realizadas en diferentes especialidades (ginecología, cirugía, rayos X, luz ultravioleta, servicio dental, exámenes); y los estados de custodia relativos al Banco Hipotecario y al Banco de Chile.
