It constitutes an exposition of the regulations of the Hermandad de Dolores [Fraternity of Sorrows] and the attributions of its officials (with the exception of the members of the board of directors of higher rank than the president), around 1890. It begins with a brief pious reflection towards the Virgin of Sorrows, patron saint of the institution, to later describe and list the functions that corresponded to the president, the inspectors, the visitors and the doctors, respectively. At the end, the districts in which the population of Santiago was divided for the care of the sick, at the end of the 19th century, are mentioned: Santa Ana; Saint Joseph; Recoleta; Central; Cañadilla; Assumption; San Isidro; San Ignacio; and San Lázaro.
