A treatise in ten chapters (أبواب) on the uses of the astrolabe, one of numerous works on astronomical instruments authored by ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Shāṭir (علاء الدين أبو الحسن علي بن إبراهيم ابن الشاطر, d. 1360).
Begins (f. 1r, lines 2-4):
قال الشيخ العلامة الحيسوبي الموقت
ابن الشاطر تغمده الله برحمته آمين
الحمد لله الذي له ما في السموات وما في الأرض وله الحمد في الآخرة وهو الحكيم الخبير
