Mostly copies of letters from ACM members (including E. Cope, Dr. Samuel F. Green, E.P. Hastings, H.R. Hoisington, W.W. Howland, Benjamin E. Meigs, CJ? Mills, M.D. Saunders, J.C. Smith, Levi Spaulding and E.S. Minor) to ABCFM secretary Rufus Anderson. Topics include education, new arrivals, language acquisition, printing, and reports on the Batticotta Seminary, its students, and examinations. Of particular note is a letter in response to inquiries made about caste in the mission, which highlights the history of caste and the mission's approaches to caste, and a request for Anderson to report on the Bombay mission's approaches to conversion and a native church.
