(1) loose handwritten notes; (2) fragment of a letter sent to Dr. James T. Rutnam by a Campbell-Johnson regarding a painting of Sir Alexander Johnson as a boy; (3) letter to Rutnam from A.J. Broome, Director of Requests and Textbooks Department at the British Museum detailing a bibliographical reference on A.J.; (4) handwritten notes titled "Tree Male Line" dilineating A.J.'s maternal ancestors and descendants--probably written by Rutnam; (5) 1817 letter from W.M. Harvard, an early Methodist missionary to Ceylon, to A.J.; (6) newspaper clipping about a Mrs. T. Hurley, last descendant of Alexander Johnston in Vancouver, who claimed the Marquess of Montrose's embalmed heart from the Royal Stuart Society; (7) letter from Captain H.S. Wheatly-Crowe, founder and Governor-General of the Royal Suart Society, to Rutnam, explaning how he first came into possession of the heart of Montrose; (8) letter to Wheatly-Crowe from Maisie Hurley, A.J.'s descendant to whom the heart of Montrose was being sent, attempting to rectify problems at Customs regarding the sale of a human heart; (9) copy of Sunday Times, February 22, 1931 issue with a full story of the heart's travels from Scotland to India to France to Vancouver; (10) copies of newspaper stories written in the 1930s about the customs issue, with an alternative versions of the heart's travels; (11) 1955 letter to Rutnam with information about news articles on the heart.
