Mostly excerpts of varying length from several Sanskrit texts. Several verses from Srimadbhagavat Mahapurana including Canto 10, Chapter 29, Verses 1 to 8, and Canto 7, Chapter 5, Verses 23-24 are reproduced. The verse in Canto 10, Chapter 53, Verse 37 (asyaiva bhāryā bhavituṁ rukmiṇy arhati nāparā asāv apy anavadyātmā bhaiṣmyāḥ samucitaḥ patiḥ) has relevant glosses from the Bhavarthadipika commentary by Sridharaswami reproduced with it. Srimadbhagavat-Mahapurana, Skanda-Purana [Skandapurāṇa], Brahma-Vaivarta Purana [Brahmavaivartapurāṇa] are all attributed to Vyasa. Bhaktirasamritasindhu was composed by Rupa Goswami and Gauranga-rupa-chinta-manasa is attributed to Visvanatha Chakravarti. Hari-bhakti-kalpa-latika is attributed to Srikrishna Sarasvati in this manuscript. Chakshurupanishad contains mantras for cure of eye-ailments. Apart from these, there are several other excerpts from Sanskrit texts which could not be identified. Also, there are documents referring to annual Hari-sabha events, accounts and inventories of several kinds, as well as a personal letter in Bangla dated 1926-27. ; Complete/ Incomplete: Incomplete; Place of composition: Not Known; Date of copying: Not Known.
Custodial history: Established in the year of 1961 this library is a memorial house of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, a well known educationist and social reformer of British India. Birsingha is the birthplace of Vidyasagar. Many books are found which Vidyasagar used to read and gave a foot note on the book pages. Apart from this many manuscripts are also found. They provide all the facilities which can be possible for a rural library to its readers or members.
