The material is a palm-leaf family archival record of the birth chart of Kandasamy (late 19th century), from Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Mr. Kanadasamy is the father of Selvarani and grandparent of custodian Poovarajan Vaikunthananthan. It contains astrological information such as rasi chakra and navamsa. It is representative of birth charts used by Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus during the late 19th and early 20th century. It is written in verse and prose.
