The material is a palm-leaf family archival record of the birth chart of Pathmanathan Sellappa (20th century), from Jaffna, Sri Lanka. His daughter, Kosala Pathmanathan, provided the material. It is representative of birth charts used by Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus during the early 20th century. It is written in verse and prose. It notes the name of the creator as Pathmanathan from Pazhai Veemankaamam (பழை வீமன்காமம்).
