- Title:
- Poems, false advertisements and drafts for the Charleston Bulletin
- Scope & Content:
- Poems and false newspaper articles probably produced by Angelica Garnett and her brothers for their own amusement or for entry into the Charleston Bulletin. Some of these items may have been written by Virginia Woolf, as she was a regular contributor to the Bulletin, and some of the handwriting bears a strong resemblance Vanessa Bell's. This file consists of: - Two false newspaper articles mentioning Angelica Bell, dated 6 Nov 1938, purportedly from The Times and the New York Times - A letter to "the Editress" of the Bulletin from Count A Goyaux de Montmorency, dated 1 Apr 1940, regarding an ancient scroll - Two poems of several pages in length entitled Prince Fie-for-Shame or Self Control and Ogres - A typed untitled poem - Several pages of verses from the traditional nursery rhyme Mother Tabbykins - A handwritten version of Lilliput Levee by William Brightly Rands - Three pages of a script for a short comedic play about Sir Fred, which seems to be another version of the play from Vol xv of the Charleston Bulletin (Add MS 833330)
