The manuscript is the original hand written by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Ghāli Ba. The poem describes the life of Al-Hajj Umar Taal. It provides details about the patron's birth, his childhood, his education, adulthood, his rallying call to the people to Allah, his travels, his jihad campaigns in West Africa, his entrance in the Deghebere (today's Mali) and his death in 1864.
Le manuscrit est écrit par Cheikh Muhammad Al-Ghāli Ba. Le poème décrit la vie d'Al-Hajj Umar Taal. Il fournit des détails sur la naissance de Umar Taal, son enfance, son éducation, son adolescence, son appel de ralliement au peuple à Allah, ses voyages, ses campagnes de jihad en Afrique de l'Ouest, son entrée dans la ville de Degembere (aujourd'hui Mali) et sa mort en 1864.
