Quitclaim by Agnes, widow of Robert of Sandcroft, knight, to her son Robert of Sandcroft, of all her right to the service of Robert Cholle of le Grisewe, villein of Robert of Sandcroft, and other properties held by him; given at Flixton, the day of the Translation of St Thomas the Martyr [7 July] 1301.
Endorsed: in an 18th century hand, ‘Agnes quondam uxor / Rob. de Sandecroft mil[es] / to / Robt. Sandecroft fil. sue / Release of a tenent held de / d[o]m[in]o de Sandcroft. / auxilium vocat Hunyeld.’
Affixed with a fragmentary seal of Agnes, a lozenge, green, with a figure in a dress charged with armorial bearings, two chevrons, a heraldic shield in the right hand, a saltire, and a pierced mullet in the left hand, with the remains of a legend, ‘…ft’ (see Birch, Catalogue of Seals in the Department of Manuscripts in the British Museum (1887-1900), II, p. 398).
