Grant by Albreda of Old Romney [Kent], widow, to Robertsbridge Abbey [Sussex], of all the land in Pinhall that was held by Dudeman called Dudeman’s Land, in return for sixteen marks of silver.
Endorsed: in a 13th-century hand, ‘Albrede de ve… Rume’; in an 18th-century hand, ‘Sans Date'; in a different 18th-century hand, red, very faded, ‘Sussex / Robertsbridge’.
Affixed with a seal of Albreda, lozenge, green, with a winged angel facing left, in helmet and robes, carrying a staff in its right hand, with the legend, ‘sigill[um] albre[d]e de rumelel’.
