- A new edition of the Survey Gazetteer, based on the 1911 Census Reports, the latest County Directories, Railway and Postal Guides, and the most recent issues of the Revised Ordnance Survey Maps. The gazetteer contains additional information including: a table of land measures, explanation of terms, abbreviations used, and seven appendices covering the etymology of British place names, population, agricultural and shipping statistics, temperature and rainfall records, and an atlas of the British Isles at a scale of ten miles to the inch (1:633,600).
