- a description of a trip to Scotland, Jun 1866
- to Paris, May 1867, to visit local leatherworks
- to Hull via Nottingham, Aug 1867
- to Europe in Aug 1867, first to Bremerhaven, then Stubben, to Stade, then Hamburg
- to London in Apr 1868
- to Exeter and Plymouth, May? 1868 for a family wedding, and sightseeing in Chagford and surrounding area
- to Ipswich, Dec 1868, and onto Stowmarket, visit to coprolite pits at Fox Hall, and on to Yarmouth
- a trip to London, Dec 1868, returning to Ipswich for Christmas day
- to Chollerford in Apr 1870
- includes a newspaper cutting about a proposed reservoir at Hallington, and the discovery of Roman altars near Maryport
