- A small diary by John Christopher Guise covering his service with his regiment in India over 20 Feb - 30 Jul 1858. This volume deals with the Indian Mutiny but begins several months after the battle in Lucknow for which Guise was awarded the Victoria Cross. It does however record him learning of his nomination. This volume also reports further skirmishes and details cases of illnesses and death amongst his fellow soldiers.
