- A boxed 'Stamford's Map of India, based on the surveys executed by the order of the Honourable The East India Company, special maps of the Surveyor General and other authorities : showing the latest territorial acquisitions of the British Empire and the Independent and Protected States, Railways, canals, &c., 1857'. Hand watercolours show administrative areas. Two sheets, North and South. North sheet has title. South sheet has insets: three inset circles show distances and bearings from Bombay, Madras and Calcutta; and inset map, lower right, of 'The Malay Peninsula &c. showing the British Possessions beyond the Ganges, scale one fifth of map'. South sheet also has a 'Chronological Table of the Various Acquisitions made to the British Empire, listing 62 treaties from 1661 (Bombay) to 1856 (Tanjore). Drawn and engraved by J & C Walker.
