Dhammanīti nissaya

An unfinished or partial copy of a bilingual translation (nissaya) of the Dhammanīti. Covers ch. 1-4 (verses 1-63) and matches the respective parts of nissaya compiled in 1783 by the First Bāʺ ka rā Charā toʻ Tipiṭakālaṅkārasīridhaja mahādhammarājaguru (Dhammābhinandā). In Burmese literary tradition, nīti texts were a genre of didactic poetry in Pali, adapted from and modelled on earlier Sanskrit materials of this genre. They include maxims intented as a guide for everyday conduct. The Dhammanīti, alongside with Lokanīti and Rajanīti, was one of the most popular works of this genre. It is also the longest one.
