Abhidhammatthavibhāvinī ṭīkā (Ṭīkā-kyoʻ) nissaya II
- Scope & Content:
-
A vernacular translation of the Abhidhammatthavibhāvinī ṭīkā, Sumaṅgala's commentary on the Abhidhammatthasaṅgaha. Both Abhidhammatthasaṅgaha and Abhidhammatthavibhāvinī occupied an extremely prominent place in the curriculum of Burmese novices and junior monks and were frequently translated and adapted. The author of this particular nissaya is not known as the present set contains no colophon and no other testimonies of that work have been found so far. Yet, it appears the most lengthy and detailed of surviving translations of Abhidhammatthavibhāvinī.
Extent and format of original material: 1 bundle of 413 inscribed folios, 3 uninscribed folios.
Physical characteristics: Complete, multiple folios damaged.
