- Three diaries written by Ralph Richardson covering events in 1917 and 1918, when he was 15 and 16.
They mostly convey news about his school life, as well as his purchases of pets and weapons, and visits of family and friends.
The smaller, pale-coloured volume marked as 'AII', covers Jan-Apr 1917, and includes an extract from a play by Ralph, entitled The Escape.
The larger dark blue volume includes a summary of the smaller volume but continues until the end of 1917 and includes some drawings at the end.
The small brown pocket diary covers 1918 in brief.
