- A Byzantine private letter (P.Lond. III. 868 descr.; TM 39584)
- Scope & Content:
- Letter on private affairs, to the brother of the writer, whose name is not given and abraded in the address on the back. The writer acknowledges a shipment of fish received with a previous letter and calls to further action, or at least to further correspondence, in relation to conflict with some local officials. The letter closes with congratulations on a safe return and the customary closing greetings, to a woman, Thalet, and asks that the addressee greet another, Maria, and 'her little child'.

- Light brown papyrus sheet, complete with some surface damage and abrasion. On the front, there are 14 lines written 'transversa charta", with a kollesis visible running horizontally c. 8 cm from top and a protocol join c. 0.5 cm from the bottom. On the back, there is one line with the abraded address. The papyrus is housed in a glass case.
