- Title:
- Lincolnshire jointure of Queen Jane Seymour
- Scope & Content:
-
Roll listing part of the jointure of Queen Jane Seymour (b. 1509, d. 1537), being the money and lands given to support her financially during her marriage to Henry VIII, who had granted her more than 100 manors.
The roll begins with lands formerly belonging to King John, listing the extent and income of his manors of Stamford, Deeping and Boreholme (Lincolnshire), followed by the possessions of the Guild of Blessed Mary and Corpus Christi and the Guild of the Holy Trinity in Stamford.
The text describes Jane as ‘once queen’ and so must date to after her death in 1537.
