Anonymous nautical directory containing sets of tables used for the calculation of latitudes and distances, and a gazetteer of ports on the Persian Gulf coasts, Arabian Peninsula, East Africa, Iran, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Indian Ocean island groups.

The tables are occasionally decorated with red, blue, black, brown and yellow frames and geometric patterns employed to infill empty lines at the bottom of columns and to highlight section headings (see ff. 40r and 49r-50r).

Contents:

• 1) Quadrennial declination tables covering an unspecified four year period (ff. 1r–8v);
• 2) Three-column traverse tables giving values for ‘departures’ (مساج, i.e. distances travelled in a given direction), latitudes and longitudes, with occasional headings denoting the rhumbs (directions) to which the values refer (ff. 9r–31r); the last three pages contain prepared blank tables (ff. 31v-32v);
• 3) Tables prepared for geographical coordinates of locations along the coasts of the Persian Gulf, Arabian Peninsula and East Africa (هذا عرض اسم البلدان وطولهن بر العرب والزنج, ff. 33r–40r), mostly lacking values until south of Abu Dhabi Bay (خور أبو ضبي [!]);
• 4) Tables filled in with geographical coordinates for locations in the Persian Gulf, Sind (Pakistan), Hind (North West India), the Malabar coast and Sri Lanka (هذا عرض وطول بر فارس والسند والهند ومليبار, ff. 40r-49r);
• 5) Tables filled in with geographical coordinates for the Lakshadweep Islands (Laccadives) and other Indian Ocean island groups (هذا عرض الفالات وعرض جزر أميني, ff. 49r-50r); a prepared blank table (f. 50v).
