This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled ‘Story of Kovalan’ from Northern Province, Sri Lanka. A major part of this manuscript is severely damaged and deteriorated, rendering the text illegible, thus it is difficult to determine the exact age of the original manuscript. However, it is estimated to be from 1800-1900. This manuscript is written by S. Kaṇapatiyar vayittiyaṉ kuṭārappu. This manuscript is about ‘Kūttu’. This manuscript contains Prayer to God, Pūrva kāṇṭam, Kaṭaṟpaṭukāṇṭam, Pūmpukārkkāṇṭam, Vañcikkāṇṭam, Maturaikkāṇṭam and Mīṭcikkāṇṭam. 1st : Pūrva kāṇṭam Pāṇṭiyaṉ aracirukkai kātai, pāṇṭiyaṉ upatēca kātai, (veṇpā - katai), kaṇṇakai tiru'avatārakkatai, (kalittuṟai - veṇpā - katai), kōvalar uṟpavakkātai, (veṇpā - vēṟu - vēṟu neṭil), makappēṟṟu kātai (iṉṉicaitaru), tūripōṭukkātai 2nd Kaṭaṟpaṭukāṇṭam Kappal cey kātai, veṭiyaracaṉ pōrkkātai, vīra nāraṇaṉ vataiyuṟu kātai, veṭiyaracaṉ cōkakkātai, naṭpu koḷkātai, kaṭaṟpaṭukāṇṭam 3rd Pūmpukārkkāṇṭam Maṇamālaikkātai, nivētaṉam, ovvorukāṇṭaṅkaḷiṉ muṭivil kaṇṇakaiyam'maṉ tiruvaṭikaḷē caraṇam 4th Vañcikkāṇṭam Araṅkēṟṟukkātai (mātavi kūttu) tālāṭṭu, poṉṉukku maṟittaṟkātai, vañcikāṇṭam 5th Maturaikkāṇṭam Cilampu kūṟaṟkātai, uyir mīṭcikkātai, vaḻakkuraikkātai 6th Mīṭcikkāṇṭam Aṉaṟpaṭukātai, kaṇṇakaiyam'maṉ kuḷiṟcikkātai, mīṭcikāṇṭam The protective cover is made up of teak.
