This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled “Kaṇṇakaiyam'maṉ kuḷircci” from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. This manuscript contains the details of the author, title. This is written by Cempāppōṭi son of Kantappōṭi V.V and Aḻakippōṭi on 28th May 1956. This manuscript contains detailed descriptions about Kaṇṇaki am'maṉ. Kaṇṇaki am'maṉ is a folk deity who is worshipped to alleviate the diseases that occur during hot weather. This manuscript contains the songs of Kaṇṇaki am'maṉ. This manuscript contains the ritual Kuḷirttippāṭal to assuage the anger of Kaṉṉakiyammaṉ, the deity form of Kaṉṉaki, the protagonist of the Tamil epic Cilappatikāram. In her worship practice in Sri Lanka her anger that burnt the ancient city of Madurai, is assuaged by the Kuḷirttippāṭal. This manuscript contains 48 pages and the letters of this manuscript are clear to read.
