An undated collection of papers, which, with a single exception, are astronomically themed, mostly about variable stars. The single exception is one page headed "Third Year - Boys." listing 10 names and surnames. The bulk of the material, about 275 pages, consists of calculations and diagrams relating to "position error" for various stars (R Ant, R Ara, S Ara, eta Car, R Car, S Car, U Car, V Car, W Car, X Car, y (?) Car, R Cru, S Cru, T Cru, R Nor, U Nor, kappa (K) Pav, L3069 Pup, L3105 Pup, pi Pup, R Pup, RR Pup, S Pup, sigma Pup, T Pup, R Pyx, RY Sco, R TrA, S TrA, T TrA, N Vel, R Vel, S Vel, and T Vel). There are also 27 pages of calculations and diagrams about alpha-1 Cen, alpha-2 Cen, and beta Cen, and a few pages of original observations and observing registers, of unknown star(s). One page bears the stamp of "THE EAST LONDON CLUB". Two essays are part of the collection: "The Stars / part (1)", written for the layman about star gazing (5 pages) and "Sirius", also written for the layman, describing various traditional views of the star and discussing the discovery of the companion star Sirius B (16 pages). Finally, there is a 4 page listing of the contents of the Memoirs of the Royal Astronomical Society (vols. 38-49). Previously listed as R045. Split into two packets.
