- Title:
- Log Book: 13-inch Boyden Refractor (Plate Series X): Objective prism stellar spectra.
- Scope & Content:
-
From the cover: "13-inch / [Plate series] X / Objective Prism / Absolute Magnitudes / New List / Also additional list of M stars / G+K stars / corresp. 2599 / 24 XII 1942 / Corresp. 13 Feb 1948 / C [underlined]". Appears to be a logbook for a project with the 13-inch Boyden Refractor, between roughly 1942 and 1948, to photograph stellar spectra with an objective prism. Many pages crossed through in red, with "Re-written" or "Finished" written across the page. The last 6 pages are blank. The book contains lists of stars, arranged by HR number, giving co-ordinates and magnitudes of each. Some entries are followed by pencilled-in numbers which may be plate numbers. The lists are all titled "13-inch. Objective Prism. Absolute Magnitudes.". Several lists are sub-titled "G + K Stars" while two lists as sub-titled "M Type Stars". On the back cover is attached a maker's label on which a designation, of unknown significance, is written: "H 137153". Reference is made to correspondence, dated 1942 December 24 and 1948 February 13.
