- Title:
- Log Book: 10-inch and 8-inch Programmes (1929-1932)
- Scope & Content:
-
Log book of programmes on the 10-inch Metcalf and 8-inch Bache telescopes, roughly from 1929 to 1932. The book is written from both ends. The front cover is titled "10-inch + 8-inch / 1932" and the back cover is "MF Program [deleted] See OVER". On the left inner board a summary is given: "10-inch / M.W.V. / Spectrum - Cannon - North Gal[actic] Pole / Spectrum - Patrol for novae". Presumably the MWV is a slip for MWF. Each programme is presented as basic instructions followed by a list of field numbers and co-ordinates, followed by pencilled-in plate numbers. This section of the book has two programmes: "10-inch Metcalf / June 1931/2" (4 pages), and "8-inch Bache June 1931/2" (2 pages). The reverse of the book contains 8 programmes: "Milky Way Fields", "Milky Way Fields for concentration" (three), "MF Spectrum plates ... for Henry Draper extension work", "Spectrum ... Mc Cormick region, south of -10° for which MF spectrum plates are desired.", "MF Spectrum patrol for Novae", and "Spectrum plates for Miss Cannon / 60m to 90m / narrow images to show faint stars / Centres for Galactic Pole Regions".
