Compiled and reduced from authentic materials in the Office of the Surveyor General of India, Calcutta, June 1855, under the Superintendence of Captain H. L. Thuillier, Deputy Surveyor General. First published by John Walker, Geographer to the Secretary of State for India, in Council 2nd Feb.y, 1863. Second edition revised and published at the Surveyor General's Office, Calcutta, 1870. Compiled by John Graham. Engraved by J & C Walker. Revision engraved by M. H. West & F.J.T. Walsh. A stamp in the top centre reads 'Geographical D[indistinct] India, Surveyor General's Office'.
