Black and white photographs depicting Meriel in costume on stage and in film performing in various roles.
This folder contains:
- three photographs depicting Meriel as Lydia Languish with André Morell as Jack Absolute, including one with other members of the cast, in The Rivals in 1938-1939
- fourteen photographs depicting Meriel as Miss Crowther and some other cast members in the film Young Man’s Fancy in 1939; some of these photographs are publicity shots of Meriel in costume and in plain clothes
A few of these photographs have been marked with a stamps showing the copyright belongs to J W Debenham, and Wilfrid Newton.
