- Letters written by Charles Richardson, at age 12 and 13, and addressed to Ralph and Meriel as Mummy and Daddy.
The majority of these letters are sent from Summer Fields, Charles' boarding school near Oxford, by air mail to Ralph and Meriel on tour in America in 1957.
However they also include a series of notes written by Charles on the headed paper of the Carlyle hotel, New York, probably over the Easter holidays of 1957, and left for his parents to read on their return to the hotel after their evening productions.
The letters from the end of 1958 include details of Charles' first term at his new school, Stowe.
