Scope & Content:

A series of 72 pamphlets containing tables of bench-marks and their indexes of geographical names, for blocks in the India and Adjacent Countries grid. Each booklet covers one 1:1,000,000 block, and contains a 'Chart showing the Main and Branch Lines of Levelling and the sites of the several Tidal Observatories'. Published by Order of the Government of India (earlier editions), or the Surveyor General of India (later editions). Printed at the Office of the Trigonometrical Survey (earlier editions), or the Geodetic Branch Office, Survey of India (later editions).
