Confirmation by John Pecham (Peckham), archbishop of Canterbury (r. 1279-1292), of 10 earlier grants to Norwich Cathedral Priory, mostly from earlier archbishops of Canterbury and bishops of Norfolk, issued between c. 1100 and 1241.
Given at Lambeth, 15 May 1281.
With a notary certificate of John Alan and his notary mark, a stylised cross.
Decoration:
Paraphs at the beginning of each charter, usually terminating in a human face or a grotesque. John Alan's notary mark across the join of each membrane.

Provenance:
Sir Robert Bruce Cotton (b. 1571, d. 1631), 1st baronet, antiquary and politician. Cotton’s collection was augmented by his son, Sir Thomas Cotton (b. 1594, d. 1662), 2nd baronet, and his grandson, Sir John Cotton.
Sir John Cotton (b. 1621, d. 1702), 3rd baronet: bequeathed the entire Cotton collection of books and manuscripts to trustees ‘for Publick Use and Advantage’, 12 and 13 William III, c. 7.
Formed one of the foundation collections of the British Museum in 1753.
