(1). ff. 1-85. Draft typescript of Francesca Allinson’s unpublished book on folk song, 'The Irish Contribution to English Traditional Tunes', starting from chapter 3 (chapters 1 and 2 are not present). A note on the front states: ‘First Version. This went to O. U. P. It is dead.' Contains numerous changes and annotations in pencil and ink. Pages originally tied together. Original order retained.
(2). ff. 1-48. Musical examples for the above, written in ink. Pages numbered 1-79, plus some extra unnumbered (ff. 41-48). With Francesca Allinson's name at the top of page 1.
Earlier and later drafts of this work are found in the collection of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, at Cecil Sharp House.
