Letters relating to the New Manx Worthies project. The original Manx Worthies book was compiled and published by Manx antiquarian and historian A. W. Moore in 1901. It gave brief biographies of deceased persons connected with the Isle of Man who were considered 'worthy' of mention. The new project is a collaboration with the Centre for Manx Studies. It plans to mark the centenary of the publication of the original work by revising it and producing a new version which will include 'worthies' who have died since Moore's time.
The majority of the letters are from Dollin P. G. Kelly, general editor of New Manx Worthies, to Pat Gordon, requesting information about Abdullah Quilliam for publication in the new book. Kelly has a particular research interest in Quilliam and has broadcast a number of talks about him on Manx Radio.
