Press cuttings relating to the Quilliam family, featuring cuttings from the Crescent (1893-1908), an Islamic newspaper, and the Porcupine, a satirical magazine. Both publications were edited by Abdullah Quilliam. Includes:
- One photocopy of a cutting, undated, probably 1874. The funeral of Samuel Quilliam (d. 28 Jun 1874).
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Liverpool Daily Post and Liverpool Courier, 7 and 8 Aug 1889. The death and funeral of Abdullah Quilliam's father, Robert Quilliam.
- One photocopy of a cutting, 1896. The establishment of the Medina Home for Children. Hannah Quilliam is Honorary Treasurer, W. H. Quilliam Esq. is Honorary Solicitor.
- One photocopy of a cutting from the Porcupine, 7 Apr 1900, p. 241. Quilliam's 44th birthday.
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Crescent, undated, probably Apr 1901, pp. 243-247. The death and funeral of Quilliam's mother, Sister Harriet Khadijah Quilliam-Holehouse (1832-1901). Quilliam has published under his alias H. [Haroon] Mustapha Leon.
- One photocopy of a cutting from the 'Editorial Notes' of the Crescent, 3 Jul 1901, p. 9. Ethel Marian Quilliam and Lillian Ayesha Quilliam have both passed their examination in the London Institute for Advancement of Plain and Fancy Needlework.
- One photocopy of a cutting from the Crescent, undated, before 8 Apr 1908, p. 202. The illnesses of Quilliam's children Zulika and May Habeeba[h]. Quilliam has published under his alias H. Mustapha Leon, M.D.
- One photocopy of a cutting from the 'Editorial Notes' of the Crescent, 8 Apr 1908, p. 233. The death of Quilliam's youngest daughter, May Habeeba[h] Quilliam. Quilliam has published under his alias H. Mustapha Leon.
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express, 6-8 Mar 1922. W. H. Billal Quilliam's company Direct Fish Supplies Ltd. is in the hands of the official receiver, and associates are unaware of Billal's whereabouts.
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Liverpool Echo, the Daily Mail and the Daily Sketch, 26-29 Apr 1932. The death of H. M. Léon.
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Daily Mail, 27 Apr 1932. H. M. Léon's identity. 'Was Dr. H. Léon also Abdullah Quilliam?' and 'A solicitor shiek changed his name'.
- Photocopies of cuttings, 23 Sep 1933. The burning of Madame Léon's bungalow.
- Photocopies of cuttings from the Isle of Man Examiner, 2 Dec 1937 and 5 Mar 1938. W. H. Billal Quilliam has been charged with conspiracy to defraud. He has been sentenced to two years in prison.
- One cutting from the Record-Gazette, 19 Jul 1962. 'Rare Island Owner' Harry Quilliam, owner of 'Quilliam's Island' in Peace River, Canada.
- One cutting from the Examiner, 14 Apr 1978. Pat Gordon's visit to the Isle of Man to research Abdullah Quilliam for her brother, who is gathering material to write a biography of Quilliam.
- One cutting from the Examiner, 5 May 1978. 'How Sheikh Abdulla's polygamy caught up with him…'. Personal memories of Quilliam from his grandson John Deane Potter.
- One obituary from the Times, Nov 1979. Quilliam's first grandson, Sir Francis Rose.
- One obituary from the Guardian, 30 Jan 2002. Dorothy Carrington, wife of Sir Francis Rose.
- One cutting, 19 Apr 2002. Written in Arabic, with a photocopy translation by Macki Ali Ani. The cutting relates to Quilliam and British Muslims.
- One obituary from the Independent, 2 Aug 2003. Quilliam's grandson Sir Charles Kerruish, former Speaker of the House of Keys.
