A Pecha. A Tibetan book, made of long strips of paper, in imitation of the Indian palm-leaf manuscripts.
- Scope & Content:
- A woodblock printed unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. བདུད་ནད་གཞོམ་པའི་གཉེན་པོ་རྩི་སྨན་གྱི་ནུས་པ་རྐྱང་བཤད་གསལ་སྟོན་དྲི་མེད་ཤེལ་གོང་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ། A text describing the nature, uses and benefits of the whole range of Tibetan medicines. In modern print versions this text and text EAP1221_KBR_CD_TXT-7 are combined and known as ཤེལ་གོང་ཤེལ་ཕྲེང། (Crystal ball and crystal rosary) (Crystal ball ཤེལ་གོང། crystal rosary ཤེལ་ཕྲེང།).
Extent: One unbound book consisting of 27 folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 54 cm x 9 cm.
Condition of original material: First page creased and damaged. Yellow highlighter throughout.
Custodial history: All items handed down from grandfather to father to son for over six generationsand probably many more.
Arrangement: All items are kept in the prayer room of Chherring Dorje (not seen).
