This part contains interdepartmental correspondence relating to the rebuilding of the beacon at Ras-al-Arz, Kuwait (also written in the correspondence as Koweit), following its collapse in February 1922. Later correspondence discusses the maintenance of the light at Ras-al-Arz and how it should be financed. The correspondence also touches on the more general issue of financing lighting and buoying in the Persian Gulf.
Notable correspondents include the following: the Viceroy of India; the Secretary of State for India; the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; officials of the India Office, the Foreign Office, the Treasury, the Government of India's Marine Department, the Government of India's Department of Commerce, and the Government of India's Foreign and Political Department.
