This map is one of three map sheets included in IOR/L/PS/20/C202/3.
It portrays an area of southern Iraq designated as ‘Area No 6’ by the British military forces in Iraq, extending from Muhammarah [Khorramshahr] in the east to Darraji [Ad Darraji] in the west and from Qalat Sikar [Qal’at Sukkar] in the north to Umm Qasr in the south.
The map shows the territorial boundaries of different tribal groups. The names and territories of individual tribes are shown in red, while the larger boundary of the territory of the Muntafiq Confederation [al-Muntafiq] is shown in black.
Portrays hydrology and areas of desert. Also shows key settlements, roads suitable for wheeled traffic, railways, tracks, and aeroplane landing grounds.
