Government of Madras award 500 pagodas to Surgeon James Richardson for his work in furthering the practice of inoculation in Trichinopoly, introduced several years prior by Nicol Mein. Order than an abstract report regarding inoculation be published in the vernacular languages and circulated.
Letters from the Medical Board to the various districts regarding the circular, and reporting the success of inoculation at Guntoor [Guntur], praising the Zemindar Vassareddy Vencatadry Naidoo for his efforts to increase the uptake of inoculation.
Letter received from various Collectors regarding the progress of inoculation, the support of the Zemindar, and recommending that native inoculators be trained in European methods. Pp 89-92 show inoculation statistics for Vizagapatam.
