[pp 1-4] Extract from the Public letter from Bengal, dated 4th January 1821, regarding the management of the Honorable Company's Botanic Garden at Saharanpur.
[pp 5-8] Extract from the Public letter to Bengal, dated 28th June 1820, relative to the condition of the Botanic Garden at Saharanpur, the appointment of Dr George Govan as Superintendent of the Botanic Garden, and the expenses allowed to be incurred on account of the Garden.
[p 9] Extract from the Bengal Public Consultations, dated 11th January 1820, containing an order instructing that the Local Agents in the Ceded and Conquered Provinces should submit a half yearly report on the state of the Honourable Company's Botanic Garden at Saharanpur.
[pp 11-14] Letter from H Fraser, Acting Secretary to the Board of Commissioners in the Ceded and Conquered Provinces, to C Lushington, Secretary to Government, Public Department, Fort William, dated Farrukhabad, 10th March 1820, giving observations on the Saharanpur Botanic Garden, suggesting that the edible vegetables of the Hills, such as onions and turnips, may prove an acquisition to the horticulture of Britain and that the soil of the Saharanpur area may be adapted to the Teak tree, requesting a few Tea plants for the Saharanpur Garden, and enquiring if there exists forms for arranging and recording information so as to show progress or explain failures of experiments.
[pp 14-34] Report by M Moore, G Govan and W Monckton, Local Agents at Saharanpur, dated 22nd February 1820, on the state of the Saharanpur Botanic Garden, the progress which had been made, and whether the Botanical researches of Dr Govan had been successful in introducing species of plants, or a better mode of treating those plants which the country already possessed; with related correspondence.
