‘Botanical Gardens have been formed at Prince of Wales Island and Singapore. An indulgence in respect to allowances granted to Dr. Wallich during his absence from the Presidency [restated?] and his zeal and talents eulogised. Mr. John Forbes Royle has been appointed to the charge of the Garden at Saharanpure. A Committee has been appointed to take into consideration a plan projected by Dr. Wallich for increasing the supply of Sissoo and Bamboos for Commissariat purposes. Reports submitted’
