This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, and resolutions cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. The correspondents are the Government of Bombay; Abbas Mirza, the Crown Prince of Persia ['Abbās Mīrzā, Nāyib al-Salṭana Qājār]; and Henry Willock, Chargé d’Affaires, Tehran.
The item concerns the wish of Abbas Mirza to bestow the second class of the Order of the Lion and Sun on Lieutenant-Colonel James Sutherland for his services in 1809 and 1810, and particularly for his care of two Persian youths who were sent to be educated in England.
