Regarding the suggestion by James Ranald Martin that Medical Officers in each Presidency be required to prepare reports on the Medical Topography of areas which they are acquainted with, and that a committee of surgeons be formed to collate the reports into a topographical memoir.
Discussion of the quality of reports received, the need for cooperation from the relevant civil authorities, and the question of who should have ultimate responsibility for publishing the reports. Includes a list of medical topographical reports received by the Medical Boards. Decision to publish the following:
