Contents:
ff. 1r-39r: Philippe de Thaon (fl. 1113-1150), Comput (Anglo Norman) [added Latin title ‘lib[er] de creaturis’, in a 15th-century script].
ff. 40v-41r: Two short Latin texts on the Computus (beginning ‘In anno quo ciclus’ and ‘Quicumque adventum domini celebrare desiderat’).
ff. 41r-82v: Philippe de Thaon, Bestiarius (Anglo Norman, with an introduction and rubrics in Latin).
Decoration:
The Comput and Bestiarius contain spaces that have been left open for drawings: the first text contains one drawing in black ink on f. 5r: a man holding a flask; ff. 5v-6r has spaces and captions for six roundels (outlined in lead-point) displaying Signs of the Zodiac; f. 62v has a drawing of a ‘Serra’, added in lead-point.
Large and medium initials in blue and red with penwork decoration in the same colours. Marginal pen-flourishes in black ink (e. g. 24v, 30v). Rubrics in red. Quire letters in brown ink, added in a 16th- or 17th-century script.

Provenance:
The Cistercian abbey of St Mary the Virgin, Holme Cultram (now Abbeytown), founded in 1150 by Melrose Abbey: their ownership inscription on f. 1r (‘Liber sancte Marie de Holmo’) and f. 82v (‘Liber sancte Marie de Holmcolt[ra]n’, added in a 14th- or 15th-century script.
