Scope & Content:

This part of the manuscript contains the Vita S. Edwardi Regis et Confessoris (The Life of Saint Edward the Confessor) and the De Genealogia Regum Anglorum (On the Genealogy of the Kings of England) by the English historian Aelred of Rievaulx (b. 1109, d. 1167). The rest of the initial manuscript containing these works is now British Library, Arundel MS 36 and British Library, Royal MS 13 A XXI, ff. 151–192.

Decoration:

Several large initials in red and green with penwork decoration (f. 84r); several large initials with foliate decoration in green, red and blue; numerous small initials in red and green. Rubrics in red.
