Provenance:
Thomas Cave, owned in the mid 16th century: his name inscribed on f. 54v; perhaps added the English inscription in the lower margin of f. 36r: ‘Thus Christ Amen quod Jhesus’.
An unknown 16th-century English owner: added inscriptions on f. 7v and 56r in a 16th-century script (see Lyons, ‘Ancient Formula’ (1870), p. 152).
Henry Savile, of Banke (b. 1568, d. 1617), collector of manuscripts, owned in early 17th century: the contents of ff. 3r-56r are listed in his catalogue as item 78c (see Watson, The Manuscripts of Henry Savile of Banke (1969), p. 34).
