These folios contain a collection of canon law, possibly copied in the region that is now France in the 2nd half of the 12th century.

Contents:

ff. 38r-39v: Modus Tenendi Synodos in Anglia Primaevis Temporibus, including prayers for a synod beginning 'Adsumus sancte spiritus adsumus peccati quidem immanitate detenti' .

ff. 40r–44r: Excerpts from the Collectio Dacheriana.

ff. 44r–52v: Canons of the council of Trosly, 909.

ff. 52v–53v: Pseudo-Isidore of Seville, Epistula ad Leudefredum episcopum.

ff. 53v-59r: Excerpts on marriage, entitled 'De matrimonii ratione', beginning 'Iheronim[us] ait nisi...'

ff. 59r–86v: Pseudo-Isidore of Seville, Collectio canonum (excerpts).

ff. 86v–98v, 139r–153v, 158r–v: Quadripartitus (excerpts).

ff. 98v-104v: Text on bishops accused of crimes, from a letter traditionally ascribed to Lucius I (see J. P. Migne (ed.), Patrologiae Cursus Completus... Series latina, 217 vols (Paris, 1844-1855), 3 (1844), 975).

ff. 104v–110v: St Gregory the Great, Libellus responsionum.

ff. 110v-118v: Text purporting to be a letter of St Clement to James of Jerusalem, entitled 'Ep[ist]ola S[an]c[t]I Clem[en]tis... ad Iacobu[m]'.

ff. 118v–128v: St Gregory the Great, Registrum (excerpts).

ff. 128v–139r: St Augustine of Hippo, De coniugiis adulterinis, book ii.

ff. 139r-158v: Excerpts from various texts on church administration, penance, etc attributed to councils and church fathers.

ff. 158v–161v: Fulbert of Chartres, Epistolae.

ff. 161v-162v: Canons promulgated by Gregory VII.

ff. 162v-163r: Texts pertaining to lay penitence and other decrees.

ff. 163v-171r: Short extracts from texts on ecclesiastical issues including simony, clerical marriage, ordination, altars and other issues, and various extracts on synods and church history.

Decoration:

Initials with foliate and geometric decoration in gold, black and purple (ff. 38r, 40r). Initial with a face drawn inside it (f. 86v). Highlights in gold (including ff. 101v, 102r, 104v, 105r, 107r, 109v, 118v, 119r-v, 120r, 122v, 123r-v, 124r-v, 125r, etc). Line filler in purple (f. 146r). Diagram listing male and female relations, with lines in red and purple (f. 155v). Rubrics in red (ff. 156r-171r). Highlights in red (ff. 157v, 158r). Initials of varying sizes in purple, red, and occasionally gold throughout.
